In a significant move aimed at enhancing the transportation infrastructure of Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has granted approval for the acquisition of Innoson luxury buses, a venture estimated to exceed a total worth of N10 billion.

This momentous decision was unveiled during a recent State Executive Council meeting presided over by the acting governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta. During this gathering, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, shared insights into the government’s strategic collaboration with Innoson Nigeria Limited. The partnership is set to deliver a fleet of 58-seater IVM buses to the state, designed not only to elevate transportation services but also to alleviate the impact of subsidy removal on the populace.

Additionally, the state administration has issued a crucial advisory to residents residing in areas prone to flooding. The advisory encourages residents to consider relocating to safer areas to preempt potential adversities stemming from the release of water from the Lagdo Dam into the River Benue.

The announcement reads, ‘In light of the water release from the Lagdo Dam into the River Benue, the public, especially those situated along the River Benue valley, are strongly advised to contemplate shifting to safer locales to mitigate the potential detrimental consequences of flooding on lives and property.’

This proactive measure underscores the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its citizens, while Governor Fintiri’s decision regarding the Innoson luxury buses serves as a testament to his dedication to both progressive infrastructure development and the well-being of the people of Adamawa State.”
