Former SSG Receives Prestigious Award for Exemplary Public Service

The Adamawa State former SSG receives prestigious award for outstanding service in public office.

Mallam Bashir Ahmad, the immediate former Secretary to the Government of the State, has been honored with a distinguished award recognizing his outstanding contributions to humanity and the development of the state.

The award was presented to Mallam Bashir at his residence in Karewa by the Luggere Community under the auspices of AUF (Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri) Ambassadors on Thursday.

Ibrahim Vokna, the Chairman of the Group, explained that the award signifies their gratitude and admiration for his exceptional service to the state, particularly the people of Luggere ward.

Gideon Buba also praised Bashir Ahmad for his remarkable accomplishments during his tenure as the Secretary to the Government of the state. He assured him of unwavering support and loyalty.

Gideon further highlighted some of the notable achievements of the former SSG, including drilling 32 boreholes in various locations in Jimeta metropolis, installing 5 electricity transformers in Yola-North, and influencing the construction and rehabilitation of road networks in Bekaji, Karewa, and Ajiya wards of Yola-North.

Additionally, he mentioned the payment of monthly stipends to 440 vulnerable indigenes across the 11 wards of the local government council, yearly clearing of cemeteries for both Muslims and Christians in Jimeta, and providing job opportunities to community members in the state and local government civil service, along with various charitable and humanitarian services.

In his response, the recipient of the award, Bashir Ahmad, expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. He encouraged members of the AUF Ambassadors to continue supporting the current government to build upon the achievements attained thus far, acknowledging that he wouldn’t have achieved this success without the Governor’s support.

The former SSG also urged them to remain obedient to political and religious leaders and constituted authorities, assuring them of his commitment to contributing to the state’s development.

While pledging his continuous support to the Fintiri-led administration, Bashir equally thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve the state’s citizens.

Other notable figures present at the event included Hon. Boni Atoba (Convener), Yola-North PDP Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Wakili, Alhaji Aminu Adamu Kwalli, Barristers Hassan and Husseini Garba Maidawa, among others.
